While there are advertisements devoted to the titanium-clad metal cutters, titanium tools are not always among the best choices for cutting hair.

Stainless Steel: When people call metal: Stainless Steel, this fancy sounding term can be describing a variety of metals that come in different types of strengths. Not all stainless metal cutting tools have the same properties.

A layer of titanium metal is bonded over traditional steel tools to create the titanium-clad products. No matter what the interior steel rating numbers might be, the thin titanium layer of material is a problem that will wear off during normal sharpening procedures.
